Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd., is a premier corporate entity in India incorporated in the year 1867. The Company is a highly diversified and multi-locational conglomerate with its corporate headquarters in Kolkata.

Balmer Lawrie entered the field of Leather Chemicals in 1983 by taking up the manufacturing of Synthetic Fatliquors in Chennai. Over the years, Balmer Lawrie has added several new products and formulations which have been developed in-house in its modern R& D facility in Chennai. The Company offers a basket of Synthetic Tanning Agents, Synthetic/Semi-Synthetic high performance Fatliquors, beam house and finishing chemicals. All the products are manufactured at the state-of-the-art plant in Chennai. Most of the products comply with REACH norms and are Eco-friendly.

The manufacturing plant is ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certified. Balmer Lawrie’s manufacturing expertise is backed by excellent technical services, provided by a team of very experienced & highly qualified Leather Technologists. The Company operates Technical Service Centers at Chennai, Ranipet, Ambur, Kolkata and Kanpur, the major leather production centers in India.

Balmer Lawrie has been a market leader in specialty Greases & Lubricants. A pioneer in grease manufacturing, its pan-India manufacturing facilities produce the “Balmerol” brand lubricants which cater to the core sectors of the economy including Railways, Defense, Steel, Mining and Automotive. Its R&D Centre also known as the “Application Research Laboratory” (ARL) located at Kolkata is amongst the best in India.
